Checkmate - Anything But Gingham!

For the most part, we bought what we wanted for the baby nursery off the shelf. The one exception, though, was window panels. Despite all the baby/children decor sites I visited - potterybarnkids, landofnod, potterybarnteen, among others - I just couldn't find anything contemporary or retro-chic. I felt like maybe the Gingham pattern might be our only option...
Since I was almost crazy enough to make the table linens for our wedding, I thought why not curtain panels. I searched and searched and finally came across Tonic Living, a small fabric store in Toronto, Canada. The fabric we ended up going with was the fun and spunky "Pink Coco Beach".
You know how you have a vision but you're not sure if it will really work out the way you want? Well, I definitely had that fear once I ordered the fabric. However, the fact that Janine at Tonic Living was so helpful and offered to take back the fabric eased any concern I had.
So did mommy*drama like it - you bet she did!
Now, I'm thinking maybe my next project is to make a triptych out of the three Fashionista fabrics (wrap each of the fabric around a pre-stretched canvas) that we can use to decorate the nursery...
By the way, you can get a 15% discount at Tonic Living throughout 2006 by entering "DADDYDRAMA" during checkout.
